Production is really starting to pick up. He said that the company has really started sinking money into the place. They have purchased a new headdrive and tailpiece for their slope belt. They have also spent alot of money and time on upgrades to their equipment. The engineers are going to be there today to set spads for there left hand turn. After that it is a straight shot of mineable coal. More haulage is going into the mine before weekend to keep up with production.

I'm sitting on a bunch of DGP and it's the best way to play a direct move in POG. I just think the miners are soooooo undervalued here, thats why I like GDX so much.
Believe me if it wasn't for the SKF/UYG trade i'd be fuming about my miner positions.
You could be right on tomorrow's data. Dollar is at top of the range and unless the FED hikes Tuesday I think it's ready for a fall.

Holding out

They can't get the ounces mined back to where it was in 2006 and expect to double by 2010????????
This business model is amazing in that they're locked in at $3.90/ounce, but the only flaw is that the companies they are in contracts with aren't going to have the mining of Silver at the top of their to do lists as the Gold is more important to them. To have entered into so many new contracts and not see the proper increase in Ounces makes me a bit leery!!!!

Looks like Gold took an early dive around 5:00 AM and bottomed around $904 for the time being. Dollar still above .7325 after yesterday's strong rally that pushed it to the top of it's range. Green all around the world and our futures are up a bit.
ADP number this morning ahead of tomorrow's first look at GDP followed by Friday jobs day. I would expect the markets to continue to rally, unless we get a surprisingly low GDP # tomorrow, the next two days. Nothing wrong with this as we expected to start trading within a range of 11,000 - 11,550. Only problem is the Financials have rallied MUCH further than the rest of the market and the dollar is pulling Gold and oil down hard.
Best outcome would be for this rally to continue the next two days, with the same volatility occurring, then we get hit with a nasty jobs number on Friday which would start a dollar fall which is about ready to take the next step down.

Just read through the 200 or so I-Hub messages since the call and we're getting a lot of bailing out, so if the PPS holds then you know the MM's are scooping up them shares.
If I was an investment firm I would definitely put some money to work here (after sending someone to visit of course). Do you guys know how many of our dear miners are still turning losses and trading at $4, $5, $6 and even higher. I realize most own instead of lease, but the lease royalties are so minimal/ton if this can be profitable in the 3rd quarter, there's no reason we shouldn't be at least .32/share.
1500 tons/day * $25 profit (I don't believe the $40 going around) = $37,500 * 6 = 225,000 profit/week * 13 weeks/quarter = roughly $3 million profit/quarter * 4 quarters = $12 million profit/year
363 million O/S / $12 million = .03 cents/share EPS This is not including second mine and using $25/ton not the $40-44 going around. If so then approx $17 million profit/year

Now this is a POSITIVE number. There are $5 coal/gold/silver stocks out there not showing a positive EPS. And we belong in the .02 area?????? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!

QMNM Call
Everyone on IHUB is bringing up questions to ask, but I can't fathom it being a free for all where we will be allowed to ask questions. First of all, i'm assuming we're all going to be muted and Eugene or P/R company will read a statement updating us on progress or whatever it may be.
As for asking questions, I guess they could do a "press 1 if you's like to ask a question" and screen them, or give us an e-mail at the start of the call to send them to.
The main issue i'm concerned with is the amount of outstanding shares as i've heard that some of the debtors have converted their shares. This and the Bankruptcy are the keys to me, but I haven't prepared questions. I'll be able to wing it depending on how (if at all) they are fielding questions.

Miners are in some fun ranges right now and with the help of Gold, are ready for a VERY nice run!!!
Big day tomorrow for QMNM, thinking back it was a choice between QMNM & BIHC and this is the path I chose. So far BIHC has performed much better, but based on the speculation of a buyout that was supposed to be announced 2 weeks ago. Someone knows something as another big rise took place today but i'd still rather be where I am in a company that is HOPEFULLY producing coal as we speak.
Couple things I saw in QMNM trading today were:
1. MAJOR shorts covering, i'm talking lots of 1,000,000 shares that somehow got through at below the bid??? Not sure how those MM's work but seems they can shift shares from one account to another without hitting the market (ie bypassing a higher bidder)
2. There were a couple times today when as soon as the price hit a certain level, buys were triggered on a large number of lots. Either a lot of weak hands were shaken out, or the MM's were selling between accounts??????
Anyways, let's hope we hear something thats both unexpected and positive.

Pemberton Energy Ltd. has filed a defamation lawsuit against Simon Verduyn, an Alberta man who criticized the company in forum postings on Stockhouse and suggested that its president, Richard Saxon, misappropriated money. Pemberton filed the case in B.C. Supreme Court on July 21, 2008, complaining about 28 postings made under the alias "tinman50."
The company says those postings were made by Mr. Verduyn. In them, he allegedly suggested that company was incompetent because it had taken three years to begin drilling an oil and gas project in Alberta. He also said that Mr. Saxon was "watching peelers" while the stock price slid, and that the company was wasting time and money.
The postings occurred before the stock went to a 62-cent high on March 10, 2008, and as it declined to a 24.5-cent low on April 14. The poster claimed to own 740,000 of the company's shares.
Most of the posts happened after Feb. 20, when the company issued a two-sentence news release saying it had completed preliminary work on its 10-15-82-3W6M well in Alberta.
One from Feb. 24, 2008, read: "I have talked to Richard and his puppet on several occasions. The first time I tried to find out some information about the company and I told them how many shares I owned and was told I was a lying so and so. I then told them I would put my shares up for sale the next day. The next day came, Richard phoned me to apologize and pleaded to me to remove the large block. I did and he was very grateful. To me we should be informed as to what the problems are with the rig this time, so I phoned SS and asked him about it today but he was extremely rude again. A question for all stock holders, are these the kind of people we want running this company?"
Another was on March 31, when tinman50 alleged stated: "Are we going to get [the rig] in before the SP is at a dime? RS this is no time to be sitting in Vancouver watching peelers, best get things going before we have a foot of mud on the lease!!!"
An April 18 post allegedly read: "For the new invester, if you are going to invest here you might as well throw your money in the toilet you'll get to see your money a little longer, providing you have to flush more than once."
On April 21, he allegedly stated: "When are we going to have the next shareholders meeting. We might have to have it in Vancouver so the Saxons can't run away on us. But I suppose he could always say the cabbie wouldn't let him in the cab, lets try to get your sh_t together boys, no one even wants this crap anymore. But you did good today we only lost 1 cent not 3 or 4."
Then on April 22, he allegedly stated: "These are the first holes the Saxons have ever drilled, not bad only 2 to 3 years to get this far. What is it going to take to complete them, another 3 years. If they do have 600k what is he waiting for does someone have to put the seat down and hold his hand to get his next big job done? SP tells the story here. I don't think you should use the word 'experts' so loosely on this board."
Another post on April 28 allegedly stated: "I have been trying to get info for about 4 weeks. Good luck getting any info on anything here, we probably have two duds or four if you count the Saxon's. For all we know they took the left over 600k and bolted. Just my opinion."
The company complains that the words mean Mr. Saxon is incompetent and needs to be replaced, that he is unable to manage a drilling project, that he is stealing company resources, and unless he is replaced no one will invest in Pemberton, among other things.

In addition to seeking general and aggravated damages, the company is seeking punitive damages on the grounds that Mr. Verduyn deliberately published the words and that he knew what he was doing was wrong. Needed some down time and with the early 4:30 Sox game I figured I'd relax a bit, next thing I know 12 innings and i'm half asleep.
Nate, you have every right to be frustrated as it's hard to make money with all the restrictions. But if you can keep your emotions in check it'll help you out greatly.
You're not able to keep averaging down YET so you are either in a holding position, or if you aren't comfortable and think something else has a chance of moving quicker, take the loss and move on. Nothing at all with taking a loss if you make better use of the money somewhere else.
We simply took a major pummelling the morning that I said it was going to be a monster day for us. If things had gone our way, gold would have been back over $990 and we'd all be happy. Now we just have to hope we can get a reversal to get out from underwater, but we all KNOW that eventually we will.
How bout the next couple days you stick it out in your positions and see what the conference call has in store for us. As for loading up in QMNM, I would definitely advise against that. Too many unknowns even though they SEEM to be knowns. How many shares do you have again???

Talked with Eugene for about 20 minutes, which was great.. he was very helpful and i tired to really press him on certain issues but he remaine very vague.
On BK people still have approx 30 days to disapprove the BK plan. If all ok deal it will be approx 30 more days to get passed by the Judge. If not approved then he has another 30 days to come up with a new plan. ( he did tell me that trying to come right out of BK protection was not out of the question, could be a real possibility)
Convertible Debnutures, he really did not say much at all about it. I am not sure if he fully knows.. so no real help.
Re mine inspections, said that during rehab they were there almost everyday, not they come roughly once a week.
Re productuion and contracts. Reiteraited what Everette had said approx 2 weeks for full production, that what they are producing now, is covering Pond Creek expenses. Logan is giving them $10/tonne more on the origianl contract, and they want all the coal at Pond Creek, but he did not go into any detail about further pricing and or contract with them. Once thing both he and Everette said was that allot of people did not want them to start the mine..All the big players want all teh coal so they can set the prices..But they are real happy they suceeded.
Re Cedar grove and others. Basically said the same as Everette regarding Cedar. Sounds to me like he wants to open 4-5 mines though( we talked a bit about investment opportunities outside of the stock market, he took my business card and said there would be some. ) I would think if he is really aggressive about opening up a few mines they would need some more funds as monies coming in over the next while would not be sufficent)
I beleive any production form these others will not be going to Logan though, maybe India and has talked to others but would not specify.
Re shares outstaning. He said there is apporx 700 million outstanding, but i caqnt see where he is getting that number.
Re cost. It iscosting Quest $56.00 /Tonne Whicj includes shipping washing Etc, so i beleive profit on tjhe first contract is between $40-$44/tonne.

Talked with Eugene for about 20 minutes, which was great.. he was very helpful and i tired to really press him on certain issues but he remaine very vague.
On BK people still have approx 30 days to disapprove the BK plan. If all ok deal it will be approx 30 more days to get passed by the Judge. If not approved then he has another 30 days to come up with a new plan. ( he did tell me that trying to come right out of BK protection was not out of the question, could be a real possibility)
Convertible Debnutures, he really did not say much at all about it. I am not sure if he fully knows.. so no real help.
Re mine inspections, said that during rehab they were there almost everyday, not they come roughly once a week.
Re productuion and contracts. Reiteraited what Everette had said approx 2 weeks for full production, that what they are producing now, is covering Pond Creek expenses. Logan is giving them $10/tonne more on the origianl contract, and they want all the coal at Pond Creek, but he did not go into any detail about further pricing and or contract with them. Once thing both he and Everette said was that allot of people did not want them to start the mine..All the big players want all teh coal so they can set the prices..But they are real happy they suceeded.
Re Cedar grove and others. Basically said the same as Everette regarding Cedar. Sounds to me like he wants to open 4-5 mines though( we talked a bit about investment opportunities outside of the stock market, he took my business card and said there would be some. ) I would think if he is really aggressive about opening up a few mines they would need some more funds as monies coming in over the next while would not be sufficent)
I beleive any production form these others will not be going to Logan though, maybe India and has talked to others but would not specify.
Re shares outstaning. He said there is apporx 700 million outstanding, but i caqnt see where he is getting that number.
Re cost. It iscosting Quest $56.00 /Tonne Whicj includes shipping washing Etc, so i beleive profit on tjhe first contract is between $40-$44/tonne.

Hi guys.Back from Kentucky sorrry i could not post anything last night. We left Sunday at 11 pm and arrived at the mine around noon. After leaving the mine we drove back up to P.A and had a meal and passed out.
As Luck would have we arrived at the mine to find Everette fixing some machinery ,which will help for full production, and Eugene was on site. First we talked to Everette about how thinhs were going.. I will jot a few notes and maybe i can add more tomorrow. Just before that i wanted you all to know i did not take many pictures because they would have been no different than the ones the guy from Yahoo posted. What i did get was pictures of the heaping coal pile, pictures of coal pouring off the belt. I even have a nice chunk of coal in my bag.. Must be worth about 50 cents...lol

How is production going at Pond Creek. It is going well, producing about 500 tonnes at this point.. At a point where they are making a turn and when this is acheived ( approx 2 weeks) they will be in the good coal. It seemed that General mining had really screwed things up .I dont really understand allot about the mining bus but apparently you are rock then a Mud Flat, then more rock.These are bolted to make the roof really secure. General did not have the mud flat ( i could be wrong about the actual name) and therefore in rehab they had to repalce about 30,000 bolts. They have 2 shifts, and working on a 3rd. Laws are very strict in Kentucky and all the workers have to be Drug tested, had to let 3 guys go because they failed the drug test.
Asked about the Engineering report and what it was, and he showed us basically a whole lot of stuff on SPATS.
The wall was full of reports and permitts, and inspections certificates, ( in the trailer) but was not allowed to take a picture.
Asked a Cedar Grove. he said has appleid for all permits, just waiting on Goverment to issue, the rehab on this mine will not take very long as mine is in good condition and roof has been done properly. From what i took out of the conversation there was quite a bit more than 10 million tonnes of coal in that mountain ..The is a large seam right underneath Pond Creek.
Everret was a really nice Guy , you can tell he has been mining his whole life, and really seem to know what he is doing. Does not pay much attention to the stock , or the internet. ( Will continue on next post )

Coming up the next two weeks. Any thoughts on this sector that has performed absolutely horribly considering the huge increase in gold & silver????
Many companies took nosedives after not meeting estimates and even still showing negative earnings. I understand that the money is put into other projects but at some point investors are going to want to see profits not promises of say 1.5 million ounces of gold by the year 2012.

Nate, that $8.50 probably won't get filled today but we WILL hit that this week sometime IMO so why not just wait till then. I understand that you want to book something quick and get into something else, but it takes a few days for sells to develop the way you're forced to play. Nice numbers moving futures early. POG taking a nasty plunge on that news seeing it as basically eliminating any chance a a cut in the future to help banks (until the next shoe drops). Just a knee-jerk reaction for Gold IMO as fundamentals will bring it right back up.

It's pretty rare that losses have to be booked which is great, and the only thing that your mind has to be able to handle is missing out on a few %'s by booking. The AX school of thought has people thinking booking is bad and that once gold gets moving it'll be too late to get in?????? I used to argue to no end with him. Yamana has gone up like $2 in almost 2 years yet i've probably booked at LEAST 100 lots in that period while people get all ramped up while it's rising and he starts drawing arrows to the moon when it's around $20 so nobody books. Then it pulls back, they all start the cycle again of watching it go down and seeeing arrows to the moon every day. I can't imagine the pain of those guys who buy and hold.

Thats why we are contrarians
We have to make our plays in the direction we believe the market is being manipulated. Like when UYG was $14 last week and the average person thought financials were dead. Perfect buy signal and ended the week gaining 50% in 4 days.

Market Makers (MM's)
They did a fabulous job shorting QMNM since it peaked @ .075 cents and were adding to their shorts before the production announcement was made. They could not let the PPS run away so they started shorting it to death and appeared on the SHO list. They were basically selling & shorting shares in order to cover at lower prices. This shook out a VERY high number of weak hands as I witnessed many giving up on the Yahoo board Thursday and Friday. This brought us to .0132 on Friday where the MM's jumped back in causing the pop.
This is JMO but shows how the playing field isn't equal.

Dilution
A lot of companies get out of bankruptcy by reorganizing and giving their creditors shares or stock options in exchange of the debt owed. This creates more outstanding shares which dilutes the value of each share.
QMNM (Gwenco's bankruptcy)
The judge signed off on it the day before production started and creditors have until tomorrow to object which shouldn't happen as it's in all the creditors best interest to allow mining to continue in order to get paid.
Through the BK filing, there will be NO DILUTION. They owe $2 million and you're correct this has to be worked through first. The current contract they have is for $8 million at $87/ton by the end of the year. Once full production is hit (2000 tons/day), there will be excess which can be sold in the open market for the $137/ton current price.
It should take 2 months at full production to have the BK cleared.
These factors are a huge factor in the share price being so low as there ARE hurdles ahead. But their goals are reachable IMO and to find a producing miner for under .02 is absolutely amazing.

POG has held EXTREMELY well at the now support line of $954/3 and i'd expect some more sideways action between that level and $970 into next week when we should break through. DGP a buy in the low $24's IMO
Oil went under $130 but I still think we move upward from here. Made a nice attempt yesterday only to get pushed back down on expiration day. DXO a buy high $23's low $24's (especially for medium/long-term holders) unledd you're in the camp that we're heading back down which one week of inventory being bearish I don't think does.
SKF/UYG tricky to pick a side here with UYG running 43% the past 3 days. You'd think a SKF rally is due but the nakes short shares trial rules on financials is to start Monday????? I'm gonna play both sides and if I had to pick, i'd be buying SKF around this $140 level.
As for QMNM, I am still 100% confident in this company but don't want anyone having money in a penny that they aren't willing to lose a good portion of. Just the nature of the game.

If someone could post a link that would be awesome. The last one I saw was the sale of 1.32 million on July 2nd which wasn't posted until July 9th. I want to be sure the 1.37 million isn't the same. If it is different then first you need to be sure of the date sold, not the date the form was filed. If the sale was I week ago he could have sold for over .04 cents. Either way these shares were probably received by Eugene when the stock was under .001
They've barely been producing for a week and I find it positive that he's not diluting shares for expenses and I heard he was fully vested and may need the proceeds for a multitude of expenses going all the way to having the coal washed off site before it's shipped.
I'll admit, when I saw the .016 yesterday I started to get nervous, then told myself that i'm in it for the long haul and actually had to refrain from buying another 100,000 shares (that will come in 2 1/2 weeks after me & Lat visit) ;)

Lat, i'll buzz ya this morning, I went out for a bit last night and hit the hay early. Thanks to everyone and the story is basically this: Mayhem had a major issue with Bailout aka Nate and berated him in public. I came to his defense albiet politely in public so Mayhem posted a thread on the Admin thread which only me, Haek, Cubed & Mayhem could see saying we needed rules for our sections as people were posting off topic all over the place. I told him that I wasn't making up rules as all we do is share information and give trade ideas and post our trades. He also said he didn't want people mentioning other sites as someone mentioned "KOG from Kitco", to which I replied I follow and always will, cyclist, smaug & KOG and if I want to mention that they see a turning point or something i'm gonna say Smaug at GIM so people know what i'm talking about.I also told himthat if he was so against advertising, then what was the issue with mentioning "other sites"?

Tomorrow morn The people who look for runners will be jumping on and I see no reason why we can't run to the .075 we ran to two weeks ago when they simply stated "production will begin in two weeks", right???

I'm seriously thinking $1 by end of year when second gets running. Provided no mishaps, remember, any accident or whatnot and production could come to a halt. They said 1500-2000 tons per day and the first 7000/month for 9 months goes to the current deal which pays only $87/ton. So they better get above the 7000 tons.
Total of 13 million tons which is like 25 years, of which 3 million tons is MET coal which is going for like $320/ton.

Despite a number of delays and setbacks experienced in bringing the property online into the coal production stage, we feel that production could not have come at a better time given the recent surge in global coal prices."
According to GlobalCoal.com, the weekly index for power-station coal priced at the port in New South Wales (Australia) gained $22.69 to $194.79 per metric ton in the week ended July 4 for a record 6th week of increases.
The Pond Creek location is expected to be in full production mode within the next few weeks. Management aspires to then shift strategic focus towards bringing its Cedar Grove mine online.
