Dump truck (title is a link)

The monster in the picture (title link) can carry 400 short tons. I doubt they have something 3-4 times that size hauling 1200 tons a go!!

There is no such thing as a truck that can carry 1200 tons. At best (if he's got real nice dump trucks) he's getting no more than 20 tons per truck, which is 800 tons if he's got 40 truckloads in. Numbers aren't adding up which I never like!

let's not get carried away with the numbers i presented. as i even wrote, i couldn't understand exactly what he was saying, so i just wrote what i remembered, which i knew was somehow incorrect. maybe it wasn't "40 truck loads" but "4-ton truck loads", etc, know what i mean? somewhere i misheard something i'm sure. i didn't want to keep bothering the guy, he also had a hard time hearing me b/c there was shitloads of noise in the background (another good sign i suppose)

anyhow, i also forgot to mention that i asked about any hiring. he said that within the last week they hired 2 or 3 more guys. that right there is some serious news.

Maybe he meant 1200 tons a day and was exaggerating a bit? I doubt he meant 1200 per load... At no point have they ever said that they expect to unload 40 truckloads X 1200 tons per DAY.

So, either he's outright lying and we're going to be left in our pink polkies, or he's exaggerating in order to try and (wrongheadedly) counter some of the negativity. I think the exaggerating is more likely. I wish they'd learn that forthright statement of the facts is better for the shareholders than fluff PRs and exaggeration in the long run.

Still, exciting news though!

this guy sounded as "blue collar" as they get. i don't think he was being a "salesman" and exaggerating numbers for me. the numbers i presented are obviously dead wrong (as i wrote), but i put them out there for us to try to uncover what was in fact said (if that makes sense). i know presenting screwy info is frustrating, that's why i only wanted to keep it here for us to stay level-headed about. if anyone else wants to call him tomorrow please do so. try to fine tune what i heard then update the info here. i can give the phone number if anyone wants it.

sorry, just to be more clear:

my question to him was "how much have you been producing?"

he said "well, about 40 truckloads have gone out so far this week" (that much i remember for sure)

then i kind of stumbled when trying to ask well how much is a truckload (and we kind of interrupted each other a few times)... then i heard the 1200 to 1500 tons. those numbers obviously aren't related to truckloads, so maybe he then switched over to roughly what they were putting out a day.

again, if somebody has time, please call tomorrow (more prepared than i was!!!)

40 truckloads is prob. about right.
That would put him at 800 tons; maybe 1000 tons if they are overloading or he's rounding in his head.

Hey, if they're producing near 1000 tons I am happy!! I don't care how the hell they get it off their lot as long as they do!

Thanks for all the follow up Nate - the info is really helpful and it's great to hear that he hired more crewmembers as they will need that to mine 2 shifts.

Thanks Nate

With QMNM hireing 2-3 more people that must mean non farm jobs are going up - things look better than it seems :)

Supposedly there is a second shift which is only half the manpower of the 1st shift. I'll look back to try to find where I found this info but this and the downtime was reported a week or two ago and has been confirmed by Nate's talks which I like.

hey Joe,
do you have any thought as to how and when production info will be given with a PR? do you think they'll wait until after the BK hearing for news on that as well?

i'm thinking of adding to my position as well. i know "catching a falling knife" isn't the way to go, but i'd sure like to get in at a nice low this time. but last time i waited i missed a huge pop that i knew was coming...don't want to make the same mistake.

IMO Nate, this .006 area is a BEAUTIFUL entry point. If they are hauling coal out like they say, then the BK can be cleared and they can move foward as a profitable company (even if the full A/S are issued). I'd think he'll give us a daily amount before the court date, but not Aug numbers in a P/R because of the down time.

Question: If/when this thing does pop again, any thoughts on how long is long? I want free shares, myself, so if it pops back to .07 I may sell a few, but any other thoughts on the matter?

Latviski said...

I'm going waaay long on this one, as in swinging for the fences.

I'll flip a few trades if she gets back to .03/.04 resistance and plateaus, but other than that, I'm thinking .10 and above before I even consider selling anything.

In it to win it with this one.

Anybody else wonder what that little tiny fire extinguisher on the front of the dump truck (title link) is for? I really doubt it's gonna put out an engine fire in that monster... ;)

Nate Stephens said...

i'll probably look to trade a few after a pop as well, but i'm very uncertain how low to expect it to go again. if in a week from now the news is "BK issues finally sorted out, only a matter of time" and "reliable production numbers are now X only to increase" then the only thing to drop the PPS will be serious downtime and a huge influx of shares...both of which may not be foreseeable. it might be a bit of gamble in guessing how low the shares will go in the future and when. but i guess it's safe to say they will drop after the pop (but there might be 2 pops shortly after each other...for those who missed the first one).

basically we'll just mirror what Joe does and if he fvcks up then we shit in his pool before he closes it up for the winter. poor Lat will be cruising around on a Honda Shadow the rest of his life.

Latviski said...

Now that's just cold Nate...
Honda Shadow!!

LMAO.

Nate Stephens said...

i wonder how many cheerleaders it would take to wash that dump truck?

Latviski said...

That's like an IQ test question...

Whatever the number you think, you know you have to multiply it by 2, then add 1 more...because however many cheerleaders are washing, an equal number need to be cheering them on at all times or they'll forget what they're supposed to be doing.

And the 1 extra (hottest) cheerleader will be 'taking a break' in the truck cab with me.

Nate Stephens said...

well now i know what the fire extinguisher is for...getting you the hell of my cheerleader!!! now get out of my truck and go mine some coal, boy!! your honda shadow needs new tires.

Latviski said...

How 'bout Eugene just sells the damn dump truck and gives us the cash to split. I'll even throw in a never used (by me) Honda Shadow and a very well used (by me) cheerleader.

Nate Stephens said...

so let's see...some cash, a low-mileage bike, and a high-mileage cheerleader???

SOLD!!
