Euro topped and buck going up. Pressure on PM's, no flip flop here.

On the subject of WOW, did you guys see that AMBAC's first-quarter net loss was $1.66 billion, or $11.69 a share?

Joe,

Just got out of the shower, would have responded sooner. Thanks for letting me know that. I thought that since I vouched for Ax's hero that suddenly I was on the black list and off the team.

Glad to hear otherwise. I was probably being a bit sensitive as well. Gold has me in a bad mood. :o

Added MFN at 10.9. Wow...

Bought KGC @ 21.18 & PAL @ 4.97.

Hope they are sufficiently beaten down this morning to actually go up sometime in the near future. I'm really, really beginning to hate the color red.

Yeah GF I saw that too, and one of the largest bond insurers posting an $11.69 per share loss must be the reason that confidence is driving the DOW up, along with the dollar, and gold and oil are down....

This is just nuts, period. How the f*ck are you supposed to "invest" in an environment like this?

I AM tempted to get some more AUY, though.

Pure emotion rules at present. People believe what they WANT to believe. Many investors are in denial and I don't mean de river!! Think about it.

Cubed,

What play are you making in this environment? It is very difficult to deal with this market.

I make my spread either way. I'm a bullion dealer.

coinlieutenant said...

Right...but personally you arent in any stock play?

Gcubed said...

Not now. Capital markets are dry or cost prohibitive. Corps fund operations with debt. That will surely impact earnings and market values. If I were doing equities right now I'd be in grain ETF's and fertilizer. I've got a sure thing in bullion. No reason for me to stray.

(Had to delete prev. post as there's no way to edit.)

I've been watch the $ on ino.com.

If you look at, particularly, the 1 month chart and the 1 day chart you can see that the $ has some serious resistance at 71.9-72.

Hopefully, this will hold and the dollar continues it down trend. (Sounds awfully wishing for the dollar to decline!)
