Hey joe, don't mean to interrupt the sports talk here but I've been doing some reading over at iHub on various boards, and am getting very nervous about all the pennies. Then I got this private message from someone who was haunting the MDOR page:
HI MESSIE, THINK YOU ARE ON TO SOMETHING. Have read all posts here, looks and reads like a share selling scam. Too many red flags. Investors can't sell below the bid, tells me maybe CURTIS and friends are ''dumping'' shares slowly. Curtis's numbers, impossible to achieve, but impress the ''blind''. This ''hidden'' technology no one else has ever heard off, read that before in many ''scams''. Blind faith by many of the true believers, making excuses for CURTIS as they go. Always coming up with another makes me feel good ''fact'', that proves they are right. Finally lack of volume on this earth changing way of re-working scrap tires. Give me a break, this would be the hottest stock on WALL STREET. A friendly thought ''once a crook, always a crook''. Watch your fellow posters, they are the enemy. Enjoy your trading, but above all enjoy your family. Good luck.
I have too many pennies and think I might sell all of them Monday am. MMTE, SRSR, SGCP, MDOR, because I'm starting to suspect they are ALL scams. Maybe I'm just being very nervous. What do you think?
I don't want to group them ALL as "scams", but there is a reason that they are so cheap. The majority of people that play with pennies are either looking for a home run with funds they can afford to lose, or just playing channels like I do with my normal plays (SKF/UYG). I am soooooo pissed at myself for getting into these pennies, but I made my fortune on a penny so it's tough to be bitter.
The problem with trading is that unless you have a large sum to trade with and have a clue fundamentily (which we do with our short view the past year plus), almost everyone loses in this game whether it's with pennies or large-caps.
If these holdings are at all affecting your health and day to day stress, then cut your losses and try to regroup. When these companies don't have to fully report, P/R's are all we have to go on and the SEC has too much on their plate to watch everything.
I know MDOR still doesn't have high volume, but if I wasn't in this mess with my house i'd be concentrating and trying to play the range it's in.
Sorry if this didn't give you a definitive answer, but everyone's situation is different depending on what money they are trading with (can afford to lose or rent money???)
Will easily make the title game..and I agree .. If they don't score on every play Tech will pounce on them... check out the time Graham has in the pocket... I thought I saw him eating a snack in there....
As for pennies.. I got burned on QMNM and dumped it all and cut my losses like you menioned above..
Messie.... exactly what Joe said..if it is affecting you daily / emotionally (like QMNM was doing to me) just dump it, take the loss, and move on! (I lost like 75% on it...)
Joe..you have to tell me.. which penny did you make it on....what did you buy at and what did you sell it at!
Foamex (FMXL is the current symbol) .02 to $4.61 in less than 3 months early 2006. They had a reverse split so it looks like it ran over $20 but check the chart out.
Thanks for the advice guys... all the money in my trading account is play money, technically, so I'm not going to lose my shirt or anything, but I think I've gotten greedy and invested too high a percentage in the pennies, especially MDOR. Just having a freak out moment. I lost so much in QMNM that I think I'm damaged on those now. Just considering cashing out everything I own right now, and putting a bunch into real Green energy companies.
