Exactly

If you focus on a set amount or price, you don't risk the psychological element getting involved.

Financials still trading sideways

Put in an order at 147 for SKF but just while I eat :)

If we get a real selloff later on I'll let it run and book right before close

BTW arenn't SKF and UYG trading at different hours than NY exchange?

I'm eyeing SKF 135 and again 130 area if we bounce up now. Those are pretty solid buys IMO.

Think EGO is fantastic buy at current price of below 7.9 as is AZK below 4.7 (picked up AZK 4.7 myself right now).

Hey, I kind of like the single thread idea. It's difficult to read all the posts as it is. Maybe Joe could just do the one thread post for each day like before? That worked really well.

Ron said...

Just date the thread...instead of 'Exactly' put 7/19/08 and everyone post in line.

Til we get the other site going that is....

Yeah - we're gonna talk tonight about getting something simple to use together w/ real time trades...just want to make life simple and make everyone here money!

We've got talent here, just need to pool it and run with it.

If you're interested in FCX

Rumors say they might be taken over
by VALE

"DJ Brazil Miner Vale Denies In Talks With Freeport-McMoRan

RIO DE JANEIRO (Dow Jones)--Brazilian mining giant Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (RIO), or Vale, denied Friday that it was in talks with U.S. copper miner Freeport-McMoRan (FCX).

"Rumors that Vale is in talks with any company are baseless. Rumors that Vale has made an offer for Freeport-McMoRan are baseless," Vale's press office said in a statement.

Vale said the only conversations it has maintained with another company involves the possible purchase of two units of metals holding company Paranapanema (PMAM4.BR): Caraiba Metais SA and fertilizer unit Companhia Brasileira de Fertilizantes, or Cibrafertil. The two companies are controlled by Paranapanema.

Earlier in July, Vale said it was analyzing the possible purchase of the two units.

Freeport-McMoRan shares jumped in early trade Friday amid speculation that it had received a $144-a-share takeover bid from Vale, a heft premium from Freeport's current price. At 1606 GMT, Freeport shares were up 5.5% at $105.95.

Freeport-McMoRan also declined to comment on the rumors.

Shares of Vale, the world's largest iron ore producer and exporter, traded 1.1% higher at 40.73 Brazilian reals ($25.62) on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange. "

hey lat, if you could only have one, do you have a preference between EGO or AZK for any reason. i'm currently have a bit out for EGO. might be too low...

Latviski said...

I think EGO will be touching 10 if gold breaks 1k mark again.

AZK mid to high 5's.

I like them both a lot; no real preference...on a daily basis, I'd buy the one that's lagging...today that's AZK. I bought EGO at 7.97 yesterday, AZK at 4.7 today and one open limit order AZK 4.6 still.

Bought SWC @ 9.97.
Under 10 a buy IMO.
Will add at 9.50.

I need to book some before I can trade ,but I think I got all bases covered here, so I'll just sit back and monitor the situation

what are you in right now, fishfood, if you don't mind me asking?

Adding little more AUY 14.05
Also setting limit order for 130SKF in case we get little rally end of day.

Fishfood said...

I'm into AUY, SLW, EGO, FCX, GMO, QMNM, SSRI, SA, UYG, SKF and a handfull danish companies

Latviski said...

QMNM at .019.
Would LOVE to see this thing close here or above .02 on the week.

Weekly close at this level is a huge deal!

Latviski said...

SKF 135 bought

Latviski said...

Nice close QMNM .0189. Well, nice compared to the daily lows!

Miners were great buys today IMO.

Fishfood - you've got a decent portfolio (don't know what prices you're in at, but overall looks solid). I'm not touching SA myself these days, but did well with it last year thanks to Joe. Can be a volatile stock and if you trade it right lots of fun.

BAC reports Monday...will definitely guide the financials!

Time for a run - TTYL
