BTW on Jan 2. 2006 I bought a german windmill producer called REpower at 31.4 EURO - oil price was then 60 $
Wind as energy is only profitable when oil is over 50 $, and oil had already gone up more than 40% the year before, and people were shouting it had to go down
Anyway oil kept going up and so did my REpower. The price is now 207 EURO - Up 500% in 2 1/2 year. My best trade ever and still holding 1/3 of my original buy
The point is - There are many ways to play the oil market, but no real substitute for oil. Supply is growing slower than the demand is rising and thus oil will keep on rising - and we'll keep on playing along
